The Best Blender for Smoothies

Hi there, it's Tyler here from The Vegan Life.

I actually just finished a smoothie as I was creating this article. It had a banana, strawberries, raspberries, almond milk, flaxseed and 1 scoop of vegan protein powder. I still use my Breville Hemisphere Control Blender that I bought over 5 years ago.

Smoothies are such an easy way to add a healthy meal or snack to your diet. But you do need a good blender in my opinion. I really think these 3 options are best for most people.

I hope you find the recommendations useful.

3 Recommended Blenders for Smoothies

Here is a list of the 3 best blenders for making smoothies in 2017.

As we all know, smoothies are extremely healthy.

They're also one of the easiest things to incorporate into your diet.

This is why they're always recommended for anyone who's trying to improve their diet.

Whether you've been enjoying them for years, or you're just starting to incorporate them into your daily routine, you'll want the best tool for the job.

Here's the bottom line:

There are way more blenders than the ones I have listed here.

That being said, these 3 offer some great differences that will be important for many people.

All 3 take into account the important factors in buying a blender:

Price, overall quality, features, and size.

After using all 3 of these choices, I think they showcase the best that the market has to offer.

2.Vitamix BlendersVitamix blenderIf you have the budget, then you will want to get a Vitamix. Based on overall features, these blenders perform the best by far, but they cost the most. Amazon

Breville Hemisphere Control Blender1. Breville Hemisphere Control

The Breville Hemisphere Control has been out for quite a few years. I've had mine for at least 5 years now, so it's certainly not a new model by any means.

But after 5 years of constant use, this blender is still performing well for me. I make a smoothie almost everyday, and find this blender supplies plenty of power for what I need.

I actually bought this blender for my sister a few years ago and she loves it. She blends up fruit and vegetables for her 1 year old daughter and finds it works really well.

For my smoothies I mix up frozen fruit with water or almond milk, and usually add chia seeds, flaxseed and sometimes protein powder. The only time the blender struggles is when my portion of liquid to frozen fruit is way off. I find it works better when you add some liquid, as opposed to just frozen food.

This is my top recommendation for making smoothies because it's the best bang for your buck. My Breville has been working great for 5 years, and based on value for money it's hard to beat that. It's priced very well in my opinion.

Let's not beat around the bush.

Vitamix blenders are clearly the best when it comes to features and power. If you truly want the best blender on the market, get a Vitamix.

The reason I don't rate it first is because if you're just wanting to make smoothies, it's hard to recommend a Vitamix over the Breville which is anywhere from 3 to 6 times less expensive. Most people can get by easily with the Breville and save some cash.

But if price is not a factor, a Vitamix blender is definitely your best option. Most people that have a Vitamix will tell you it's worth every penny.

I would strongly recommend a Vitamix when you're planning on creating more than just fruit smoothies. These are highly recommended for blending smoothies, vegetable juices, thick dips and dense cake batters, and even heating up creamy soups!

If you want something with enough power to blend almost any type of food, get a Vitamix.

Magic Bullet Blender3. Magic Bullet by NutriBullet

The Magic Bullet is my back-up blender.

Because it's priced so low, I would recommend that everyone gets this to have in their kitchen.

The reason it's my back-up is because of its size.

I generally like to make a large smoothie for two people, or have some left overs, and that's just easier to do with a larger blender.

You also have to watch out with the power capacity. If you stuff this blender with ice and frozen fruit, it probably won't do a great job in creating a fruit puree for you. You need to watch your portions of liquid and frozen items.

But once you understand the limitations of the Magic Bullet, there's no easier way to make smoothies. It's ideal for single servings, and smoothies which contain a good ratio of frozen to fresh food. The container also acts as a mug which is handy if you're on the go.

Botton line, if you're OK with a smaller capacity, and understand you can't blend 2 cups of frozen blueberries into a liquid, you'll be impressed with this blender.

At the very least, get it as your back-up blender!
